Brain Buster Riddle
Welcome to today's Brain Buster Riddle! This one is all about paying attention to patterns and thinking outside the box. Can you figure it out?
A man wanted to enter an exclusive club but did not know the password required. He waited by the door and listened. A club member knocked on the door and the doorman said, "Twelve." The member replied, "Six" and was let in. Another member came to the door and the doorman said, "Six." The member replied, "Three" and was let in. Thinking he had heard enough, the man walked up to the door. The doorman said, "Ten," and the man replied, "Five." But he was not let in. What should he have said?
The key to solving this riddle lies in the pattern of the responses. The password is based on the number of letters in the word the doorman says, not half of the number. When the doorman says "Twelve," the word "Twelve" has six letters, so the correct reply is "Six." When the doorman says "Six," the word "Six" has three letters, so the correct reply is "Three." When the doorman says "Ten," the word "Ten" has three letters, so the correct response would have been "Three," not "Five." The man failed to notice that the number of letters in the word is what determines the answer.
